Christmas Elf Workshops

Christmas time is coming – and at Aeoncademy we’re getting the sleigh ready, the baubles dusted, and the tinsel untangled as our Christmas themed program for December begins.

Aeoncademy is very pleased to be launching our new Weekend Workshops! – on the 2nd, 9th, and 16th of December. These Saturday programs run from 9am to 12pm, and 1pm to 4pm, with a lunch break in between, and will be focused on Christmas Arts & Crafts in our Creative Catalyst program, and releasing a brand new Vala adventure with Omens of Ragnarok: Thor and The Ice Giants!

Each day we’ll run our specialised Creative Catalyst, Vala Dramatic Adventures, and Sparks Creative Play in a fantastic three hour format, and we’ll provide Morning or Afternoon tea in the middle of each period. The Lunch Break session between 12 and 1 will be a supervised time of unstructured play, but will not be catered for.

In terms of costs, our weekend workshops attract the Child Care Rebate and Benefit and cost $80 per session. The Lunch period is an additional $20. As always, all materials are provided.

At the end of term, our Christmas Holiday Program begins, and will be running from the 18th to the 22nd of December. Just like our previous Christmas Elf workshops, our days will be filled with kids art & craft, creative play, cooking and dramatic adventuring, structured in a relaxed end-of-the-year format so our kids can take it easy in our environment of Creative education and exploration.

Just like our usual School Holiday programs, the days are 8:30am to 5:30pm, and throughout the day we provide morning tea, lunch, and afternoon tea. You can book in for as few or as many days as you’d like! And as always, all materials are provided.

The Summer Holiday Program!

Our Summer Program spans from the start of December right through to when school goes back next year on February 2nd, and is full of amazing opportunities for Education through Creativity for everyone involved.

To begin with, we’re launching Weekend Workshops – on the 2nd, 9th, and 16th of December. These Saturday programs run from 9am to 12pm, and 1pm to 4pm, with a lunch break in between, and will be focused on Christmas Arts & Crafts in our Creative Catalyst program, and releasing a brand new Vala adventure with Omens of Ragnarok: Thor & The Ice Giants!

At the end of term, our Christmas Elf Holiday Program begins, and will be running from the 18th to the 22nd of December. Just like our previous Christmas Elf workshops, our days will be filled with kids art & craft, creative play, cooking and dramatic adventuring, structured in a relaxed end-of-the-year format so our kids can take it easy in our environment of Creative education and exploration.

Lastly there’s our magnificent January Program – which spans from the 8th of January to the 2nd of February.

January Holiday Program

Throughout January in our Creative Catalyst program we’re bringing back the crowd favourite Action Art! We’ll be getting physical (and super messy) with a fantastic open art class. We’ll also look at some amazing sculptural creations with Marsupial Animalia, Dinner on a Plate, Plaster Caster Master and much more! Our drawing and painting classes will take on a life on their own with Gardens of Paradise, Street Art, and the gorgeous Misty Mountains Oil Painting class!

In our Vala program, what’s old is new again with the arrival of some of our fantastic classic sets – from the crowd favourite Norse America, to the pilot of our Dawn of History line – Roman Britain – Beyond the Wall. This summer we’ll be transported (through Professor Martin’s increasingly curious Time-and-Space Consciousness Transferal Device) to the Stone Age, the Future, and even into Narnia with our new literary creation Days of Narnia – the Waste and the Wild!

The Summer Open Day is on the way!

It’s that time again – the Open Day is coming up on the 5th of November to help keep your Creative Spark burning – and to let you all know about our fantastic programs – including the Christmas Elves and the mammoth January program.

Exhibition

Our Open Days are always a festival of creative play, and this one doubly so.  For the first time we’re running an Open Day side by side with the Yarralumla Primary School Fete on a Sunday, with a host of amazing activities across both our festivities!

All day we’ll help you nurture your own Creative Spark, whether you’re a Preschooler or a Parent, or anything in between! We’ll have clay to play with, watercolours to paint with, a magnificent exhibition of students’ work, and drawing, crafternooning, making, face painting, and more!

Face Painting

At around lunchtime we’ll have a fabulous Vala Dramatic Adventure Demo – and you’re invited to join in! Follow the story of the Knights of the Round Table and how the Sword in the Stone first came to be. With a bit of luck, and some chivalrous behaviour in the Grand Tourney, you might just be able to take home Excalibur!

Dramatic Adventure

We’ll also announce the winner of the Vala Contributor’s Prize and release our fantastic Aeondawn Magazine – both in collectors edition Print and Online!

Christmas Elves last year

Booking in for Christmas Elves and the January program on the day will net you a massive 20% off, and we’ll have a host of Christmassy Gifts for you to pick up for your near and dear ones – with our new and improved supply of Vala Gear, hand-selected Aeon T-shirts, and a beautiful collection of Catalysts for creativity on offer.

So come and join in – and nurture your Creative Spark!

Aeoncademy’s Winter Open Day!

Keep your Creative Spark burning at the Aeoncademy Open Day!

All day we’ll be helping you nurture your own Creative Spark, whether you’re a Preschooler or a Parent, or anything in between! All day we’ll have clay to play with, watercolours to paint with, a magnificent exhibition of students’ work, and enough drawing, crafternooning, making and more to keep all comers involved!

Tantalise your tastebuds with delicious food from Scrumpers Garden, who will provide a delicious lunch (gold coin donation) and is collaborating with our Sparks to put together some sweet treats throughout the day!

Speaking of lunch – at around lunchtime we’ll have a fabulous Vala Dramatic Adventure – and you’re invited to join in! Follow the story of the Knights of the Round Table and how the Sword in the Stone first came to be. With a bit of luck, and some chivalrous behaviour in the Grand Tourney, you might be the one who draws the Sword from the Stone!

We’ll also announce the winner of the Vala Contributor’s Prize and release our fantastic Aeondawn Magazine – both in collectors edition Print and Online!

And (of course) we will release our Winter Holiday Program!

Jam Packed with warm wintery visual arts and stories that take us from the Scottish Highlands to the Himalayas! Remember, all holiday bookings made on the day are $152 – a massive 20% off the full price!

So come and discover Aeoncademy, and meet the team, including the visionaries and directors of Aeoncademy Mathew Long and Teffany Thiedeman, as well as all our different educators, and learn all about Education through Creativity!

A Day in Wonderland

Turn your mind a-topsy turvy with a fabulous day in wonderland on the 24th of April as our Autumn Holiday Program extends!

In Creative Catalyst we’re running our fabulous Mad Hatters Tea Party, full of fun and vim and vigour – we’re going to make costume hats and go wild with a peek through the looking glass as we all sit down for a shared meal.

In Vala, we’re going tumbling down the rabbit hole and into a story of Jabberwocks and Tum-Tum birds as the Time Bandits go to Wonderland. Just watch out for Vermin at the Tea Party.

Our Sparks, as always, will get involved in a mega blend of both activities, making their own Mad Hats and getting involved in our dramatic adventure for the day.

The New Year is coming and so are our January Programs!

Our January Programs are just around the corner and there are still spaces available!

We have some fantastic programs planned and combined with wet water play they will be an ideal way to spend a summers day. Our educators have been busy planning and preparing and are so excited that in just a few days you will be able to join in the fun.

In Creative Catalyst some old favourites return alongside some exciting new activities. You can pick and choose across days with several mediums on offer, clay, mixed materials, paper mache, painting & drawing, recycled and found objects all make an appearance throughout January. A summer favourite, Action Art will enable students to get active with their art experiences and explore using materials in new and exciting ways while getting messy. An old shirt soon becomes revitalised after spending a day putting the action into art!

In Vala the next chapter awaits. Old favourites beckon alongside new adventures. Encounter the Norse gods of Old in ‘Twilight of the Gods’, experience the life of an outcast in ‘Young Mutant Chronicles’and encounter the vastness of Space and the unknown in ‘Dawn of a New Horizon’. If you feel inspired use your experiences during the program to write, draw and create a contribution for our new quarterly, the Aeon Dawn magazine. The writer’s prize will be making a return.

Sparks are all set to enjoy both the art project and dramatic adventure on the days they come along. With new garden beds being established in the outside space they will also have more of an opportunity to engage with the environment and allow it to inspire their activities throughout the day.

If you are interested in any of our programs you can find out more through our website www.aeoncademy.com or by giving us a call.
